My friend became very ill last year and her daughter spoke to my friends housing officer telling her that her mum would have to come and live with her ..The housing officer told her not to give up her tenancy until my friends daughter was given a bigger house allocation which was given before my friends tenancy for the flat went back to the Council...A year down the line and the overcrowded conditions and the strain of waiting for a larger house which has not been forth coming from the Council. no matter how much the daughter has tried. They just keep coming up with excuses
Because the situation has become unbearable for them all,.....could my friend go back to the Council and ask to go back on the list to apply for a one bedroom property herself again to be able to move out.
She has been sharing a room with her grandchildren and living in a two bedroom house so it is definitely overcrowded.
The question is.....Are people allowed to apply again to get rehomed to their local council, if they had been a tenant for a few years previously up until a year ago when the previous flat she had was given up to the same council.Could my friend be allowed to become a tenant again by the same council..My friend just does not know what to do about it. Would be grateful for any advice please...
