On the right of the screen is currently Freeman’s. Uggs ad has just been in Prior to that is was IrisRuby. IrisRuby looked very pretty so I clicked on it and then looked at the reviews. As I suspected, it seems to be a dreadful company, items not as described, purports to be UK based but is actually Chines, refunds not issues etc etc.
Are theee companies buying the ad space from Mumsnet? I’m wondering what vetting processes they go through. Not great for Mumsnet to be associated with this kind of thing, I wouldn’t have thought.

Generally ad-space such as this is sold as a block to (for want of a better word) an ad reselling agency. Ads will be derived first from cookies and personalised before being farmed out to more generalised content. Mumsnet could insist on "no-go" categories/specific content though.

(Used to work in very senior position in web industry).

Oh ok. Thanks for that.

Definitely generalised in this instance - had to look it up to see if it was what I suspected it was 🤣🤣
