Apologies, this isn't strictly an AIBU but I'm desperate and posting for traffic.
My lovely MIL has cancer and is recovering from major abdominal surgery (last night). She's been on placed in a room with an American man since coming out of recovery - he's recovering from minor surgery, and all he's done since she got there is shout into his phone or play movies all bloody night, interspersed with yelling at my poor MIL for disturbing him if she dares to ask the staff for anything (she's in a lot of pain).
Is there any legislation to prevent mixed sex wards/rooms in Swiss healthcare? FIL has complained, but all they've done is ask him to be quiet which makes him worse.
Any kind of advice would be helpful, she's such a lovely person and we feel helpless trapped in the UK unable to go to her
