Help! AIBU Joie tilt carseat no headrest

Hi all, some urgent advice needed! Has anyone used a Joie tilt car seat without the headrest?! I removed it along with the baby cushion because I thought both pieces of padding were for a baby only and I’m now on the road, realising that I think I made a mistake and the headrest should be kept on the car seat!

Sorry not really an AIBU but just hope someone can provide some clarity. If it’s not safe I’ll need to buy a whole new seat.

I have a Joie with the same insert and removed the head pad thing at the same time as the infant support. I think DS was 13 months ish?

Ahh okay! So maybe i am okay then, I thought I could remove the headrest but then now I think he has quite a lot of space for bai head so maybe I was supposed to keep that on!! I am going to ring Joie tomorrow!

Did you get an answer? The Tilt's head insert is optional, but can be used right up until the end of using the seat. It won't have been a problem that you took it out, but you can put it back in if your little one seems more cocooned/comfy with it there.
