AIBU to buy a Ninja slow cooker?

I have been thinking about buying a slow cooker for ages.

Can anyone make any recommendations? I'd need to feed 6 people.

I was thinking of this: Ninja Foodi 7-in-1 Multi-Cooker 6L OP300UK

I appreciate any advice. I've always been put off that slow cooker food might be bland and watery. But a friend has the above model and says it's amazing!

Thank you!

If you only want to slow cook, then you can get a less expensive thing that's just a slow cooker. (my advice would be to get a digital one that has a timer, i've have broken TWO slow cookers by accidentally leaving them on overnight). Also slow cooker food always looks watery and gross for the first few hours, but magically comes together in the end!

However, the Ninja Foodi is absolutely amazing, I use mine almost every day, but have never actually used it for slow cooking. I use the air fryer and pressure cooker functions a lot. It also has Grill, and Roast/bake. Extra useful if you only have a small oven or not many hobs. It is a huge piece of kit though so make sure you have somewhere to store it, or look at your friend's first.

I Have that Ninja and honestly it's not a great slow cooker. If you want to just slow cook you're better off (IMO) getting and actual slow cooker. If you want to be able to do a variety of things (especially pressure cooking) then the Ninja is great!

Buy it. I have one. It's the best thing I've ever bought.
I use the pressure cooker more than anything though. I wouldn't have paid the price of it just for the slow cooker

What do you cook in it?

I keep looking at them but I’m in such a food rut, I’ve lost the will to cook.

I have that Ninja and it's my favourite kitchen thing! I literally use it for everything, I've even toasted a sandwich in it 😂 best purchase ever!

I have an Instant Pot with a slow cooker function. I never use it. The timer and pressure Cook options seem to cover everything!

This is me! I used to love cooking. Love Masterchef and things. Then I had kids. One was very fussy. Then he got more adventurous but then the pandemic hit and I'm just feeling a bit "bleughhhh" and tired.

And I am now in a rut and want yummy food that is easy to prepare. Hence thinking about a slow cooker.

I thought I could Chuck everything inside in the morning and have dinner ready without much effort.

Well can't say much about successful slow cooking, but i do have the ninja. It was terrifying when it arrived (two lids!!) but I've got used to it and love it. I usually use the pressure cook or air fryer function - great wedges.

Buy an Instantpot instead

The pressure cooker is much better than a slow cooker. I have an Instant Pot and use it all the time.
