For asking where a birthday card for our dc is.

She has turned up on the doorstep minus said card, accused us of being ungrateful for not thanking her for presents. The presents include headless hello kitty’s, regifted half used toiletries and other crap she doesn’t want.

For context this is the 3rd time in 4 years she’s done this, she is not old or unhealthy.

I’ve had a row as I feel we should go low/no contact as dc has had their birthday ruined by her behaviour.

My ex MIL used to buy second hand presents for my DS. I'm not talking good quality, I'm talking tatty blanket with a huge brown stain on it and a frayed corner when he was born. That was what she turned up with in the hospital. It went straight in the bin.
Another time there was a jigsaw with a sellotaped box and pieces missing and broken when he did it. She had wrapped it up for his Xmas present.

I told her not to bother bringing anything else. That didn't go down too well.
Again, they weren't poor, bought new toys for other grandchildren and spent time with them.
They are NC now by their own choice since splitting with their son.
