Shameless post in AIBU for traffic.

V boring AIBU I'm afraid. Would be really interested to hear thoughts of anyone who works for NHS.

I'll try to be brief.

In feb went to GPs with lump in nose
Put on 2 week cancer thing

Saw ENT consultant v quick. He said if it was serious, I'd be presenting ill and not to be worried. Said not cancer, booked a scan (no bloods) and he referred me to a nose specialist with a view to getting it removed. Mentioned tiny chance of v rare auto immune thing.

Had a scan v quick.
6 weeks, heard nothing about scan. Rang GPs who had copy of scan. GP Said all normal, lump was normal tissue you would find in nose. Said it might get removed when I saw nose consultant in October.

Saw nose consultant in October. He didnt have copy of scan. He did bloods to check for auto immune diseases. Said he would see me when he had found scan and got bloods.

I now have a letter saying appointment at end of January.

Heres my AIBU - aibu to contact the ENT unit to ask whether they will be investigating further for auto immune?

I'm just so nervous and want to know.

I'm taking it you think this might be GPA?
IME, you would be very unwell by now if you had it, with other symptoms besides those to do with your nose.

Do you have any other symptoms of auto immune conditions? If it was urgent they tend to flag you for an urgent appointment. End of jan sounds like a routine non urgent timing

Yes, GPA.

Thank you, I really appreciate your feedback. The lumps been noticable for 12 months now.

I do get periods of real fatigue, but I'm post menopausal and have ADHD so I just assume everything physical is just middle aged mentalness.

Ilovesugar - I'm too scared to Google the specifics.

When I looked at the GPA symptoms earlier this year, I felt like I had most of them but then most of them could also be attributed to many other things.

I go through periods of being very tired but my mental health is all over the place.

Given there will have been 3 months between bloods/first appmnt and second appmnt - that's a good sign right?

Thanks in advance

Yes, that sounds positive.
My family member had 36 out of 40 different elements of a blood test either on the limits of normal, or clearly abnormal.
It doesn't just show up as ANCA antibodies - it throws your whole blood chemistry out of whack.
Try not to worry!
