To not want to do the bloody quiz

Weekly work quiz - admittedly they can be a break but ugh, so fed up of them now.

It’s my turn this week and it just feels like bloody unpaid work having to put something together. Where can I find a quick, already put together one I can rip off?

Anyone else stuck in this eternal zoom ‘fun’ hell?

We’re stuck in a weekly friend zoom quiz and it’s horrific Grin
Every Friday- goes on for around 4 hours. I wish I was exaggerating! DH and I check out early because sod that!
Just to help though- one of our friends had a multiple choice section and a true or false section which were straightforward and fun!

FizzyPink · 07/12/2020 21:54

Perhaps we could start a thread where people post good questions? I made the mistake of writing one on Christmas Day once and now the rest of my family have decided it should be a yearly tradition so I’m on the lookout for questions Grin

WeeM · 07/12/2020 22:12

You could use the whiteboard and do Pictionary instead, breaks it up from having to dream up questions - no prep required! There’s an online random Pictionary generator too.

WeeM · 07/12/2020 22:13

Once a week though, that’s grim m Xmas Hmm

Iggly · 07/12/2020 22:16

Plenty of quizzes online to steal! Just find some.
We have a different format where each person has to bring questions. We don’t do them weekly though

Muchtoomuchtodo · 07/12/2020 22:17

Shall I send you one that we did in the first lockdown?

lanthanum · 07/12/2020 22:17

Have a scavenger round - a mug containing something beginning with M, something you haven't used since before March, something triangular, a spoonful of sugar, the last book you read...

Florence1960 · 07/12/2020 22:18

Try Ken’s quizzes

Nottherealslimshady · 07/12/2020 22:19

Theres a guy that does a YouTube weekly pub quiz. Just stick that on.

MenoHiccup · 07/12/2020 22:22

Use a Kahoot

Or is that too lazy? Grin

grassisjeweled · 07/12/2020 22:23

A 4 hour quiz?!

RandomDent · 07/12/2020 22:26

Popbitch do a daily music quiz.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 07/12/2020 22:26

We did a weekly quiz during the first lockdown. By the end, I was losing my mind. We had to think of five questions around a theme of our choosing for each quiz. Some rounds that were well received:

Ikea vs Tolkien - find a mixture of names from Lord of the Rings and Ikea products. People have to work out where they’re from.

Literal place names - large container of water for cleaning. Bath.

Are you smarter than an 11yo? - questions taken from KS2 sats papers which can be found online.

Celebrity real names - Reg Dwight is Elton John

Name a song with a specific word in the title - Red: Red Red Wine, Blue: Blue Suede Shoes

endofthelinefinally · 07/12/2020 22:29

There are hundreds of quizzes on line. Just google pub quiz. You will have it done in less than half an hour.

LouiseTrees · 07/12/2020 23:54

Just do a sporcle rather than a quiz

CoRhona · 08/12/2020 00:02

DH made up a quiz for his work called 'Who would win?' which went down a storm.

Pick two characters from anywhere - say, Wonder Woman and Medusa.

Decide who would win for any random reason (eg Wonder Woman would win because Medusa would see her reflection in WW's bracelet cuffs and be turned to stone).

Creates lots of lively discussion Wink

I am one of the few people who seems to have escaped Zoom quizzes! My family want to do one on Boxing Day which I've said I'll organise. Had some great ideas from mumsnet but can someone explain the basics to me? Does everyone just shout out the answers (because surely that's carnage) or does each person/family write down their answers? But then what? Do they send them to one person to score and is it done by email or using the chat function? Sorry to sound thick but as I say I've dodged the bullet up til now!!

flaviaritt · 08/12/2020 07:11

Is this during your working hours?

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2020 07:19

Speckled people write down the answers then mark their own.
Creating a PowerPoint with the question and then one for later with question and answer is a good idea if you can spare the time as the connection problems will mean endless repeating yourself

TerrifiedandWorried · 08/12/2020 07:22

Do My little pony or porn star. Best round ever.

MinnieMountain · 08/12/2020 07:31

A group of friends started a weekly quiz in April. DH and I lasted 6 weeks, the rest of them are still going. I’d have thought the ones without small DC would have better things to do on a Saturday night now.
