Would love to hear if anything he has had similar symptoms to me as I'm driving myself a bit crazy!

Have had some problems with my vulva for a few months now, started with a slightly sore, swollen patch on my inner labia maybe two months ago, which cleared up after a week or two.

I then had a tiny whitehead near my clitoris which was very sore and stinging if touched, I gave it a salt water rinse a few times and again, it cleared up no bother after a week.

Towards the end of that week I noticed one side of my inner labia had started stinging a bit (different place), and within a few days it was swollen, a bit sore to touch and seemed to be a bit hard and lumpy. After a couple of weeks or keeping the area clean (no products, just water or salt water), it was no better, so I went to a doctor who gave me a thorough inspection. She said it's likely to be an infected sebaceous gland. She gave me Fucidin-H for a week and told me to come back in a month if no better. I've been using the cream for four days and it doesn't seem to have made anything better - the initial lumpy bit doesn't sting anymore but is still a tiny bit lumpy, and now I've got a stinging lumpy bit towards the bottom of the same inner labia, nearer my vagina opening!

Has anyone else had anything similar - stinging, sore, swollen, slightly lumpy inner labia on one side that hasn't cleared up after a few weeks? If so, what was it and what should I do?!

NB I haven't suffered any itching at all or cottage cheese discharge, and I smell fine (I think!).

TIA

Bartholin cysts?

HooverWhenTheCoastIsClear · 07/12/2020 08:24

Without seeing it we aren't going to be able to say, there are many things it could be.
Have you had a full std screen? That Would be my first port of call. They are hot on what a normal and not and may be able to clarify.
If That comes back clear I guess I'd be thinking cyst/ingrown hair.
There are other things like psoriasis, warts. You can get vulva cancer which is extremely rare, I mean it's probably not that but there are lots of possibilities from an allergic reaction to serious issues.
Rule out the easiest first and if no better push for gynecologist appointment.
Women too often just accept issues and I'm sure it's something easily treated.
Good luck op.

I currently have a Bartholin abcess...on antibiotics and it seems to be receding. Very sore and stingy. Hopefully won't need draining.

Ow. I know someone who had one and it went on for so long because it wasn't treated for ages. I hope you're better soon.

Thanks very much for the replies, pain in the vagina and vulva is a lonely place to be and I’m grateful for the support 😊

Not a Bartholin’s cyst, I’ve had one before and I know this is in the wrong place, it’s higher up on my inner labia. Mind you, the new sore lumpy bit could be a BC I suppose 🤦🏼‍♀️ argh why meee!

Got a GUM appointment later this week, hopefully they can help!

@AuntieMarys so sorry to hear you’ve got a BC - so painful!
