retail sucks

Just reopened (but not for long) and think that people think retail workers are literally the shit on their shoe. Had nothing but Cuntomers since we opened,
AIBU to think some people would be compassionate towards our situation.

some staff are isolating or ill themselves with covid.....reduced service is offered but customers do not care, they still expect to have people run around after them!

hello? we are human too, theres no new staff magically appearing to cover for isolation/shielding/covid ridden staff

Accept some customers are being rude but I must admit I (as a customer) get pretty frazzled when shop staff don’t speak up behind their masks and screens. I have perfect hearing but all I hear is “mmmmph”. I have given up asking them to speak up as they don’t seem to get it, and I just tell them sorry can’t hear you and walk away. I am sure they think I am rude but FFS why can’t people project their voices better?

Do you want them to shout then?

As a student I worked for a few places such as sports direct (utter crap and a lot of weird customers), urban decay (CRAZY, I'm telling ya, grown up women crying over naked palettes at Christmas) & pandora (even crazier). I tried my best to be kind and empathic but people are really pushing it.

The masks make my throat really dry and that's just when I'm shopping for an hour or so. When I have to wear one for 6 or 7 hours I will not be shouting because my throat is already sore.
I'm sorry you can't hear me but I can't magically project my voice when I can barely swallow
