We have a raffle running at work. Tickets only 10p but decent prizes.
I keep loose change in my drawer so gave that to buy tickets, was £3. Later I overheard comments about "people trying to buy up all the prizes".
So, what is an "acceptable" number of tickets to buy?

Really depends on how many tickets are available/how many staff. How many were other people buying? Could the comment have been about someone buying up £5 worth or £10 even? If it was me I would have probably bought £1 worth but without knowing what everyone else was doing it's hard to judge.

me it would depend on what the money was going to if it was going to a charity i was fond of or supported i would buy more tickets so the charity gained, but if it was going to works piss up i would only buy a pounds worth of tickets

30 raffle tickets does seem a bit OTT.

But £3 worth of raffle tickets doesn't seem OTT at all.

Surely the point is to raise funds for the charity? Therefore the more tickets sold the better.
