Just that. I rarely use Instagram but found myself scrolling Britney Spears account today. It’s incredibly unnerving. She is clearly very very unwell. I found some of her videos disturbing and hard to watch.

@user1471565182

She cant use the phone without permission, cant drive, cant go out with permission and a lot of sources say her boyfriend is her fathers employee.
I’ve seen conflicting reports on her mobile phone use with some saying she can’t have one and others say she cannot have a smart phone or access to the internet.

Driving on certain medication is often not permitted, as is driving with certain medical conditions. Was she ever prosecuted for any driving offences (eg Sean on her lap etc)? Britney might not even have a licence anymore regardless of whether she wants to drive or not.

I remember reading about a previous “boyfriend” and that he was effectively interviewed and background checks completed before being allowed to date Britney but she did say she was interested in him first of all. Apparently she is most settled/happy in a relationship. How true that is since I’m certain a NDA is the first thing anyone signs before they are allowed anywhere near her, I don’t know. I can believe it though and it makes sense that to some extent Sam is as much an employer carer as her boyfriend but if both of them (and her father/court) are happy with that set up, I don’t see any issue.

I agree it’s a lot of people trying to do their best. A full review was concluded by the court at one of her hearings and I do believe that the conservatorship is in Britney’s best interest and what she needs. She is very childlike which is not a typical side effect of medication. Whatever is wrong with her, I do believe she won’t recover from. It’s very sad but I hope she is happy with how her life now is (because surely nobody can look at how things were in 2007/2008 and think that was the behaviour of a happy woman) and it’s good that she has millions to be able to buy herself such a comfortable lifestyle.

So my husband is not on social media at all and has little interest in celebrity culture. He rarely views anything on the internet unless its related to motorbikes, bicyles, covid or the absolute shit political situation in our country .... I told him briefly the Britney saga this morning with no reference to the conspiracy and simply that she is living under a conservatorship because of her mental health problems....

The first thing he said when he saw the videos and photos on that Inst account? And I quote ... 'Thats not her! She doesnt have a gap in her teeth! That women is not 20 years older than the Britney from Baby one more time!'

Go figure?

Onedropbeat · 11/12/2020 07:52

She did do an Instagram live a little while ago trying to explain about the teeth gap changes as people had been commenting lots

I think she said she had a new retainer or something like that.

She’s put lots of new bits on Instagram last night

Valkadin · 11/12/2020 09:23

I can comment on her behaviour as a bipolar sufferer who has had many similar behaviours.

Rapid speech and the dancing are signs of mania. Rocking back and forth again when distressed in common in severe mental illness. Wearing the same clothes and refusing to change them again is something I have done. Would it be kind to hold someone down and physically restrain them to strip them of their clothes or brush their hair because at that time I was so unwell that is what would have to have happened. It explains her wearing the same clothes. The childlike behaviour again is common.

Whatever the poor woman has is not temporary it’s forever, my serious MH issues were triggered by an event, the death of my DD in my forties. I had behaviour that was far from normal and it was scary. Her being put in the spotlight will only serve to feed her mania.

Being manic is so very dangerous it removes you entirely from reality. Trying to describe so people can genuinely know what it’s like is impossible. It’s when the very essence of you cannot cope for one more second being alive in the reality you are actually really in.

Ffs that eyelashes thing is ridiculous. Who the hell came up with that.
Right? Words fail me

I stopped following the Britney Spears IG account after listening to the Page 7 podcast episodes and reading the Lawyers for Britney IG account. Her IG account is apparently part of Britney the "brand" which is owned and run by her dad.

I recommend the Page 7 podcast episodes, they go into so much detail about her life and background and make some excellent points about her "breakdown" and how the people around her dealt with things.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 11/12/2020 09:48

I’ve just been watching the episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch which has Britney in it. It was sad to watch her as she looked so beautiful and seemed joyful.

A husband has spoken!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 11/12/2020 09:59

I feel so sorry for her, it’s clear that she is not well at all, but I don’t know how her family have got away with saying she has dementia to get the conservatorship, without any formal diagnosis, surely this shows they don’t have her best interests at heart.

The thing is that we just don’t know what her formal diagnosis is because that part of the court papers is either redacted or sealed. Her conservatorship is under the probate court which deals with dementia and not mental health which leads credibility to it. Certainly after all these years, many professionals have assessed Britney so it’s not a case of her father saying something and that being enough for a lifelong conservatorship. Whatever the rights and wrongs of what has happened, a conservatorship just doesn’t work that way.

This is the problem

We know she doesn’t have access to her phone without permission

We know her dad controls her Instagram

So all the weird posts making her look increasingly unhinged is likely to be her dad proving his point that she’s not well enough to control her own life

The judges and medical professionals involved are not going to be granting a lifelong conservatorship because of a social media account. That’s just not how it works.

Onedropbeat · 11/12/2020 12:45

It’s not the main thing of course but it certainly doesn’t help her case

Social media outlets have been used in situations in law for years now

Britney was in a conservatorship years before Instagram was available.
Onedropbeat · 11/12/2020 14:54

Yes that doesn’t stop it from being used against her now though does it?

Onedropbeat · 11/12/2020 14:54

As if being something new stops it from being used in law Hmm

FestiveChristmasLights · 11/12/2020 15:15

No but it’s ridiculous to think that it’s needed. The judges and medics are not going to think their own assessments are irrelevant because of something on social media. Sometimes social media may be used as part of a legal case but in this instance the conservatorship prohibits the person concerned from accessing it so it would be judging Britney on the actions of the person who chose to upload the content. The judges and medical professionals are there to assess the person involved and look at all sides; they are not there to blindly accept images and videos, likely uploaded on Britney’s behalf, against her.

Britney was deemed as someone who will not recover from her condition/s or illness/es many years ago. If her Instagram is designed to show her as someone who cannot leave the conservatorship it seems at odds with the fact until recently (whilst still uploading in social media) she was able to command multi million fees for performing on tour/Vegas or judging on TV etc. Her father didn’t need to consent to her doing any of that.

I think if I’d done that I’d have been banned Confused

Either there is more to this story about what the thread was about or you’ve the wrong person.

user1471565182 · 11/12/2020 19:22

I've read about the whole eyelash thing now, and whilst I still think its ridiculous she posted it with a caption about the secrets in people's eyes or something along those lines.

Chailatteplease · 11/12/2020 20:02

@Bluntness100 definitely haven’t got the wrong person, I’ve never forgotten your name, it describes you perfectly although it should include ‘cruel’. It was on the relationship boards and unfortunately MN doesn’t deal with bullying very well from the numerous other threads it happens on.

leopardspotsdotdotdot · 12/12/2020 01:19

This whole thread seems mental. She looks drugged up on diazepam personally. She likely hasn’t had help to break that if people are feeding off her wealth.

She clearly has a boyfriend, a phone and access to social media though.

UnwantedOpinionBelow · 12/12/2020 02:31

I agree. I stumbled upon her account recently and was quite surprised - she is clearly suffering from mental health issues

DumplingsAndStew · 13/12/2020 10:47

@OldOrMaybeNotThatOld

I’m jumping on late. What does this conservatorship actually have control over besides money? She obviously has a phone, shops, drives, has a boyfriend (who is this guy?) goes on fancy holidays and lives on her own... pretty much a normal life albeit probably a normal life under the influence of medication like a lot of other normal people. Does she just not have access to her fortune to do as she pleases? And obviously restrictions on her kids visitation.
Most of that is inaccurate.

She doesn't have free access to her phone
I don't believe she is able to drive
It's rumoured her boyfriend is employed by her father, as a carer?
She certainly doesn't live alone.
