AIBU to be absolutely annoyed at fire works going off again?

We just had bonfire month last month (it never goes on just for one night does it) and once again tonight fire works are off. I would not be this annoyed if they only were set off on the intended holidays.

Now I have again a fun filled night where I have to spend the next hour trying to clam down my terrified dog

Round our way it's an indication that the drugs delivery has arrived!!!

BumBurnerBum · 05/12/2020 18:11

They are here too. It doesn't really bother me but I did wonder why tonight?

AcornAutumn · 05/12/2020 18:11

I’ve had this too, was puzzled.

This is possible round my way as well...
lovepickledlimes · 05/12/2020 18:13

It is irresponsible behaviour like this that makes me feel there really should be far more regulations when it comes to the sale of fire works....

Unlikely here or they'd be going 365 days a year Xmas Shock

Bum - apparently lockdown has caused some kind of shortage, I read on here but it was a thread that got pulled!

All jokes aside, wonder what it is.

NovemberR · 05/12/2020 20:16

It annoys me when fireworks go off on random nights for no apparent reason.

I assume someone has a birthday and they don't care about their neighbours.

Dugee · 05/12/2020 20:16

Personally I think they should be banned. Apart from at organised, licensed events. At least that way we could prepare our pets.

They were going off here on Thursday. No idea why, maybe just left over from bonfire night.

AcornAutumn · 05/12/2020 21:03

Still going off in different locations

Must be something going on. It hasn’t been every Saturday round here.

OddBoots · 05/12/2020 21:07

I am sure it is possible to make them much quieter than they do, there is no need for them to be that loud.

SpudsandGravy · 05/12/2020 22:14

I think it's time for private firework displays to be banned (i.e. the stuff in the garden that happened when I was a child). There's just no excuse for continuing to terrify animals. It's bad enough for the Dcats and Ddogs in our homes, but heaven only knows what the poor sheep and cows and wild animals feel :-(

Of drugs?

supply slowed for about 10-14 days here in March
was very obvious when it returned

thefourgp · 05/12/2020 22:21

It’s odd you posted this. They’ve been going off in my neighbourhood too. I did wonder why.

Evenstar · 05/12/2020 22:22

Massive rocket went off here about half an hour ago

ferntwist · 05/12/2020 22:23

Same here too! Anyone know what’s going on?

Rainbowx · 05/12/2020 22:24

I'm in essex and fireworks were going off like crazy yesterday!

Amanduh · 05/12/2020 22:26

We haven’t had any since Bonfire Night but loads tonight?!?

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 05/12/2020 22:27

What a bunch of misery guys, the world does not revolve around you and your animals!

PapsofJura · 05/12/2020 22:36

@GalaxyCookieCrumble tell that to the people whose house went on fire because of a rogue firework.

lovepickledlimes · 05/12/2020 23:13

@GalaxyCookieCrumble you will find the world does not revolve around you or your fondness for sparkling fireworks either

We’ve had them going off tonight too, I’m in the Midlands. The poor dog’s been terrified again.

Sirzy · 05/12/2020 23:16

Going off here to, Is there a religious holiday today perhaps?

Osirus · 05/12/2020 23:48

We’ve had them here too tonight, nothing since early November. What’s going on I wonder?
