Is this boastful?

Started a new job this week and close friends have asked about the package. Different areas of work but we are fairly open about this stuff. They have just got new jobs on x and mine will be y + performance bonus of half to three quarters. Didn’t say the base but it is similar to what they’re on. Now feel really guilty for saying it given we’re in different areas of work anyway and that it sounds boastful. I will just be quiet about it from now on!

Personally, I think women should talk more about work/pay...I'm always honest with my friends if they ask.

I personally find it inspiring when I hear my RL friends (especially from the same school) are doing well career wise - it gives me something to aim for!

I might have been a little more vague if I suspected my package was much better than theirs, like '& a decent bonus' rather than what you said.

Yes witches I immediately regretted it. I didn’t state base figures but now I feel really bad
