To be a bit freaked out?

I’ve been dating someone for a bit over 2 weeks, been on 3 actual dates (we’re not in mainland UK so no lockdown restrictions). I’ve just noticed he’s posted a photo of the two of us on his social media account.

It’s made me feel really strange, I don’t quite know why. AIBU to feel it’s too soon for that? We barely know each other! I feel like he’s trying to force something too soon?

If you feel it's too soon then yes it is. It would make me feel very awkward. 2 weeks and 2 dates and there's social media posts already?

VladmirsPoutine · 03/12/2020 20:03

*3 dates

ShedFace · 03/12/2020 20:05

Is he perhaps trying to make someone jealous? Recent break up maybe?

FlorenceNightshade · 03/12/2020 20:07

You must have agreed to him taking your picture but he should have asked you before putting it on SM. What did you think he'd do with it? Better it's on SM than his Lock Screen imo

username1724 · 03/12/2020 20:10

That would give me the ick massively..

@ShedFace

Is he perhaps trying to make someone jealous? Recent break up maybe?
This was my first thought as well.

Two weeks is REALLY early to be posting ‘couple’ pics on social media, in my opinion.

Gncq · 03/12/2020 20:11

Yes it's almost like he's desperate for other people on Facebook, who you've never met, to think he has a female friend or otherwise social life, rather than thinking of you as a real person.

Facebook is a platform for presentation rather than reality anyway, so I am biased against people who use it so frequently.

thosetalesofunexpected · 03/12/2020 20:36

I wonder too if this a rebound kind of thing he is trying to make a point impress his circle of friends etc by doing this..
Yes I agree its obvious way too far this kind of nonsence...

grassisjeweled · 03/12/2020 20:37

Bit much

thosetalesofunexpected · 03/12/2020 20:42

I ment I agree far too soon for nonsense of wanting to be seen like that
Watching made in Chelsea far too much me thinks.
Watching this its a bit of thing to work if its real or semi real or fiction,,..,

PomegranatePoggle · 03/12/2020 21:23

I don’t know what I thought he’d do with the photo, I didn’t think he’d do anything with it really to be honest.

It makes me feel a bit awkward that he’s posted it when we’ve barely spent any time together. I don’t think he’s recently broken up with someone else, he said he’s been single for around a year so I don’t think it’s to make someone jealous.

OP posts:
LittlefairyMum · 03/12/2020 21:35

A year is no time if he was in love with the person. I bet he's trying to make her jealous.

It's sad whatever way you look at it. I can understand your shock.
