What are they suggesting? Have you seen a gynaecologist?

TrufflyPig · 03/12/2020 19:57

Usually systemic fungal infections are quite rare, you wouldn't generally suffer from one unless you are immunocompromised and it would make you quite unwell.

Recurrent vaginal thrush is more likely, have they taken swabs?

Lowhangingfruit · 03/12/2020 20:30

Ok maybe I have the term wrong. But thrush isn't always picked up by swab? Like some form of cystisis?

What is the GP suggesting as diagnosis and treatment?

Lowhangingfruit · 04/12/2020 16:38

They didn't suggest anything this time. Just said she will refer me

That sounds like a good result- what did you want her to do instead?

FWIW, systemic candida is vanishingly rare and the GP likely wouldnt diagnose it themselves, it would be diagnosed by a specialist if at all. So they did the right thing, I'd say. What were you hoping for?

Check your iron levels, low iron can be an underlying cause

Lowhangingfruit · 04/12/2020 17:22

I asked about the possibility of BV so was hoping to be offered a test.

Not an answer to your AIBU but have you tried Balance Activ pessaries, available at Boots/Tesco/Superdrug etc? I get regular BV (or what I believe to be BV) and they are magic!
