My neighbours are lovely! Am wondering would you find it odd on Christmas Eve or the day before knock with some homemade mince pies and a Christmas card?

I say mince pies but am doing mince pie slices this year so shortcrust pastry then the mincemeat then a crumble top maybe with an icing sugar drizzle or dusting?

I think they aren’t funny about food gifts ect I quite often give them eggs from our chickens

I would absolutely love that.

Hope you're my neighbour

I would love it, my husband would hate it. I would do them earlier than Christmas Eve though as they will likely have bought lots of food in and may not be at their own home much over the Christmas time.

They will definitely be home they are retired and ones not in the best of health the last few months Sad

Do it but like a pp said maybe a week earlier. Mince pies are not just for Christmas.

It really depends on your neighbour. I know my parents wouldn’t be happy at the moment taking homemade gifts as they are being very careful re covid. They would be grateful for the thought of course but I can imagine anything going straight in the bin, especially my dad who is being ultra conscious of everything.

It depends on how they are generally about shielding/covid etc.

Ah then definitely do it, I'm sure they will appreciate it.

IPeedInThePool · 03/12/2020 11:05

They don’t worry about COVID we’ve had many conversations about it all.

Think am going to add a glug of brandy and some glacier cherries and a grated apple into the mincemeat and maybe chopped almonds on top with the crumble? Xmas Grin
