I'm in a bubble with my SIL (we are in wales). Her daughter lives between her house and her dads.

I went to see SIL last Friday for an hour then came home. Her daughter had visited on the Thursday before and since visiting, her father became ill so they were all tested for covid. Sil daughter and her father and step mum all tested positive.

SIL is v careful when her daughter visits and wears a mask etc. She had a test along with her husband which came back negative. However my baby now has a terrible cold. Is it possible he could have caught covid if she tested negative? I'm considering taking him for a test but don't even know if they test babies this young (6 months). I feel ok, little headache but probably caught his cold or covid!

Im hoping sil didn't get a false negative as her husband was negative too.

Ring 111 for advice. For young children better to be safe than sorry.

I think you can do a covid test on 6 Month old,
Worth ruling that out.

The mum wears a mask around her own daughter?

Vilanelle · 02/12/2020 20:53

@OverTheRainbow88 yes because her daughter is in college and sil is vulnerable so very cautious.

I say he has a terrible cold but actually he is fine in himself so far, still smiling amd laughing but he has a blocked nose and sneezing, few coughs, most of which are his fake coughs lol

I tested my baby at 4 months; it wasn’t very pleasant but in your scenario I would to be on the safe side.
