I don't how these procedures work, but I wish SCOTUS could have given a stronger put down of the suit. Now Trumpers are claiming they only lost on the technicality of Standing but their case was strong.
Like Trump won the 2016 election on the technicality of the electoral college...

Time for Trump to realise that a soon-to-be ex-Pres may not come with as much power and influence as he'd hoped. Too bad the WH party wasn't fancy dress, he could have given the made-to-measure orange jumpsuit a whirl.

I am only part way through but in the first episode it was gobsmacking the similarities between Trump and Robert Maxwell. Especially the Ivanka and Ghislaine comparison. Ghislaine was Robert Maxwell's favourite and there was an almost strange creepy and abusive obsession between him and her just like Donald and Ivanka. Then there's the elite defecation that Robert Maxwell subjected his staff to, (will go no further on this one!) and on Twitter I've read the same about Trump, admittedly, unsubstantiated.
Both men were meglomaniacs and how they ruled their family is so much the same. Playing one child off against the other, belittling them, lashing out, ruling with fear and money etc. Ghislaine was Daddy's little girl.

The connection between Trump and Epstein is far far more than I'd imagined too.

I wonder if she will be implicating him when her case comes up.

I hope that unlike the supine parliamentary procedures in the UK, the US does kick those that would subvert their own democracy squarely in the 'nads.

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for anyone idiotic enough to want to attend a Trump-led party in the first place, at any time, but particularly in the midst of a pandemic when you know there will be no mask-wearing or proper distancing. It's asking for trouble and there is no real obligation to attend this year as Trump will be gone from the WH soon, though not soon enough for me.

I swan I think these parties have less to do with feeding his ego than with contaminating the WH. When he does come downstairs he probably stands on the landing (or wherever) saying 'Breathe, cough, touch things, lots of things!".

I'd be willing to bet that the Bidens won't be able to occupy the WH for at least 24 hours after that pestilential crew leaves it due to the need for deep cleaning and disinfecting. And won't Scrotus just love that!

Although I'm enjoying a HUGE helping of schadenfreude at the thought of what he expected to be a 'victory party' ended up with him sulking in his bedroom.

Safer to make it several days. How long can the SARS-CoV-2 virus survive on fabric/paint/glass/polished wood? "Indirect contact via contaminated surfaces is another possible cause of infection. Preliminary research indicates that the virus may remain viable on plastic (polypropylene) and stainless steel (AISI 304) for up to three days, but does not survive on cardboard for more than one day or on copper for more than four hours" says Wikipedia. They'd probably better give it a week at least.

They'll want to fumigate anyway, in case Trumpitis is contagious.
