CIN2 incompletely excised -AIBU?

I had CIN 1 & 2 cells removed from cervix by LLETZ last year. A few weeks later I received a one sentence letter saying the results were adequate. At the time the wording didn’t fill me with confidence ,but ignored it with the assumption that all cells had been removed

Incidentally, I have now come across a letter sent to my GP about those results, except this letter contains more information and states CIN2 was incompletely excised.

It’s left me wondering what the level of risk is of leaving some cells behind and why wasn’t I privy to this information last year?

AIBU to feel annoyed that the results from a medical procedure have been kept from me?

As a side I have had some minor symptoms which I intend to see a GP about.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or had CIN 2 cells not completely excised?

Thank you

I had CIN2 but got an all clear after the lletz. If I were to guess, I would say in your case they got most of the CIN2 cells and are maybe expecting that the rest will clear up on their own. But it's ridiculous that they are not discussing this with you. When are you next being seen? In my letter I was advised when my next smear would be and that it would be with my local GP.

Yes my thoughts too! I should have known this last year. It’s 3 years until my next check up! I’m worried that they haven’t been removed completely that they’ll get worse. They went from CIN1 to CIN 2 in 11 months
