Tier 2 - meeting friends in pub gardens

Do the guidelines say I can do this? If you are seated outside, if you don't have to go inside except for the toilet?

I can't find info regarding distinction between outside pub and inside

Yes you can meet in groups of up to 6 in a pub garden.

My daughter said there’s a pub near her (in tier 2) that is taking inside table bookings for same household groups and outside table bookings (they have a garden with lights, patio heaters etc) for mixed household groups. Max six people per table. I’d imagine that they’ve researched this to be within the rules 🤷‍♀️

Yes you can. A lot of the pubs local to me have a 2 hour limit on bookings.

You have to eat though. We are doing this on Saturday, and I'm already mentally planning my outfit to be as warm as possible!

Yes you can! I just booked a table. The online booking form was very clear that up to six people from different households can sit outside, undercover, with patio heaters and cannot move inside due to weather. Inside tables are one household per table.

However, you can't have alcohol without a meal. I am unclear whether you can have soft/hot drinks without a meal. We are having lunch, and I am really really hoping there is mulled wine!

I would rather not bother. Which is sad for the hospitality industry but it's cold and wet/windy here. No amount of throws/patio heaters will make it any better IMO.
