favourite winter comfort food?

after a long, stressful cold day what is your ultimate fav comforting food? mine has to be milky coffee with seeded white lightly toasted bread smothered in melted flora ... your suggestions?

Toad in the hole with cabbage & bacon with ALL the gravy. Or sticky toffee pudding and lots of sauce if in need of something sweet.

Cheese toasties with heinz tomato soup.

A nice homemade roasted root vegetable soup

Jacket potato with butter and cheese

My current favourite, is left over potato mash, with left over roasted veges, with red onion and well seasoned, formed into patties, and fried in butter, with a poached egg and tomato sauce. . . lockdown perk for lunch!

Thick American pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup.

Lasagne with garlic bread.

Chocolate sponge with chocolate custard (with a skin!).

Oven baked rice pudding.

Hot buttery crumpets with layers of butter and a little squirt of honey is my absolute food heaven.

Nice homemade celery soup, my grandma's recipe with toast and loads of butter and a bit of cheese melted in.

Or a baked camembert with crusty bread and mustard baked sausages.

I lived in Seoul for several years, and my absolute favourite cold weather comfort food is tteokbokki - spicy carbs ftw!

This is a really good recipe - fresh/frozen tteok are quite readily available from most Asian supermarkets or even online.

Beef stew with crusty bread and butter, which I’ve just had for dinner.

My favourite anything would never include Flora.

I love any kind of beef stew, curry goat, or a cauliflower cheese.

The Flora thing upset me too- butter surely?

A nice hearty chicken and wild mushroom risotto with truffle oil

Really slow cooked beef stew with lots of veg and jacket potato with lots of butter (no dumplings, don't like those).
Am just about to make a pot of red cabbage.
Bread and butter pudding.

And looking forward to the pub next door to the office reopening on Wednesday - superb vegetarian breakfast with halloumi, great for lunch.
