To be mad at the blatant incompetence and cronyism of BoJo’s government

Boiling mad at the article in the FT today that clearly lays out how, despite the second highest level of spending (and debt accrued which will mean higher taxes for all of us), Britain has the worst outcomes in terms of economic impact (reduction in GDP) and health (second highest deaths per 100,000) of the G7 in response to this crisis.

Despite BoJo and Co’s rhetoric, their brand of incompetence and cronyism has been clearly called out and it’s just frustrating that we will have to pay the price and cough up the taxes.

Definitely not being unreasonable. This whole lockdown is so ridiculous. Boris' rhetoric about protecting the NHS pisses me off when he continues to divert funds from it and unnecessarily lines the pockets of his associates instead.

GooseWhiskers · 29/11/2020 21:09

It drives me mad that we seemingly can’t do anything about it.

JamieLeeCurtains · 29/11/2020 21:11

Yes it's fucking nauseating, and wait till Brexit and the 'disaster capitalists' get to work and the real shit show ...

DynamoKev · 29/11/2020 21:17

They are filth which is why I didn’t vote for them.

nosswith · 29/11/2020 21:17

Why has it taken you so long to realise that we have the worst government in history? Anyone following statistics published since March each day and seeing some press conferences will have confirmed this.

There are only six government ministers who are not the worst in history.

Rishi Sunak is probably not as bad as Norman Lamont, even though he is economically illiterate.
Dominic Raab is not the worst Foreign Secretary, that was Boris Johnson.
Grant Shapps is not as bad a Transport Secretary as Chris Grayling.
Ben Wallace is not the worst Defence Secretary, the two in Gordon Brown's government were worse.
Liz Truss is not as bad for international trade and development as Priti Patel.
Brandon Lewis is not the worst Northern Ireland Secretary.

The level of incompetence is staggering (except when it comes to enriching their mates, they're excellent at that). And the utter contempt they hold the public in, Johnson can just dismiss us with a wave of the hand and a 'I consider the matter closed'.

KenDodd · 29/11/2020 21:26

I think they get away with it because of the Brexit faithful. The people who voted for Brexit have been captured, the government know this and know they can do what they want with impunity.

KenDodd · 29/11/2020 21:28

I've seen Brexit/Tory voters actually burying their relatives while saying what a good job Johnson is doing.

tortoiseshell1985 · 29/11/2020 21:30

It's a corrupt Government that's not news

Tickly · 29/11/2020 21:41

YANBU. It is beyond comprehension how corrupt this administration is, how many contracts and positions have been handed out without proper process and how we are in such a mess trying to finalise brexit. It is also incredibly sad that there's no way forward that I can see short term to make it better. Sad

Found the below on Facebook suggesting everyone sends Johnson a Happy Anniversary card to 'celebrate ' a year of his government and all their failures. It suggests we list some of his lies and incompetence and demand answers. I think I might send one.
