On my iPhone calculator, if you do a calculation and want to go back a level, you just swipe left on the number.

You actually can swipe the number!

I didn't know this.

SingToTheSky · 29/11/2020 00:05

Givemeabreak88 · 29/11/2020 00:19

Smallsteps88 · 29/11/2020 00:21

Doesn’t work on my iPhone Sad

UrghThisIsHard · 29/11/2020 00:24

Doesn’t work on mine. I’m not sure how I could do it differently...

littlebitupset · 29/11/2020 00:45

Type in some numbers then swipe left and it deletes them one by one.

Could be the most interesting part of my 2020

Oooo it worked. after many failed attempt

CunnyLingus · 29/11/2020 00:54

My old i-phone 7 stopped working a while back and so I bought an X.

I managed to get the 7 working again. A wall unit was a bit wobbly and it propped the corner up to make it level.

I found out recently that if I want to write degrees I just have to hold the zero down. I don’t have to do it often, but when I do I’m glad I know.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 29/11/2020 01:02

Oooh thank you!

I suspect I use about 2% of my iPhones capability!

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 29/11/2020 01:12

My mind is now blown! And no it really doesn’t take much Grin

I found out recently that on android and iPhone if you are typing and want to move the cursor to correct something for example, you can use the space bar as a touch pad and slide your finger along it to move the cursor along the line of text. 😊

ErrolTheDragon · 29/11/2020 01:26

0° ...I'd never found that, it's not a particularly obvious association unlike the accented letters like Å
… ooh, there's other stuff on various punctuation chars

Oh wow, that's really useful.

There is one other thing.

I can make calls on mine. So long as you have the string of digits that accords to a friend's phone number you type that number in, making sure all numbers go in the right order, then the same friend's voice can be heard on the other end. It works not just for friends, but also to ring a garage to book a car in for its MOT, to make appointments to go to the doctor and also to wish somebody happy birthday.

A friend of mine rings herself up while leaving her phone in the front of her knickers.

I am not that close to her really, heard it from a friend of a friend like.

@errolthedragon and @notreallyhavingitall thank you. Fab tip.
