To hope one of them blows their fucking fingers off?

I've already rang the police.

For the last few nights, there has been a gang of lads fucking about on a bit of waste land near my house. They're probably a half a mile away across a big field but it's really quiet here and the sound travels. It sounds like they're blowing spray paint cans or something up, and there's a fire that I can see. I'm so fucking, fucking sick of it.

The only problem is the police can't catch them because the little fuckers are on dirt bikes and just vanish across the fields while the police are stuck on the road (and also, due to where I live, it takes a police car ages to get here.) I've rang the police on them three times alone in the past two weeks.

Aibu to hope one of them blows their nuts off so they'll pack it in?

What wallywobbles said, plus AK47 and large spikes in the drainage ditches.

Seriously, the company which owns the land MUST be responsible for it. This must be affecting your neighbours, as well? You could get together and perhaps take the company owning the area to court?

I think I would be tempted to go over there during the day, and pin out some lengths of razer wire. Bugger up their tyres for them.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/11/2020 14:37

They're setting fire to aerosol cans. They'll blow blow more that their fingers and nuts off.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/11/2020 14:51

Bored teenagers. I feel sorry for them

There's always one Hmm

And they can't even read the thread since OP said it's grown men rather than teenagers ...

The police could easily intervene, if they were hassled enough to bother.
They can quickly find out who owns dirt bikes locally & go knocking. & set up on the roads that must be used to get there & stop these youths.
the slurry idea though is ideal

@UntamedWisteria

OP we had a similar issue.

If the land is owned by a company, you want to go after the company, on health & safety grounds.

They need to make the land inaccessible & improve security because if there is an accident involving the youths they will be legally responsible if they were aware it was being misused like this.

Worked for us with fuckers riding motorcycles on waste ground.

Agree. Go after the company, and do it in writing by eg email, so you can prove they were told about the issue.
@WelcomeToGreenvale My sympathy for bored teenagers evaporates when they damage property, light fires, leave litter everywhere and generally behave like anti social thugs. All teenagers get bored at times, but that's no excuse for anti social behaviour.
I agree. For bored, substitute, disinclined to engage in any meaningful activity. There are plenty of things for teenagers to do but most require a degree of effort/compliance with rules that some people are simply not prepared to give.

Set remote control depth charges.
Then activate them when they play up. Grin

Changi · 28/11/2020 16:29

I've heard it all now! It's not the farmer's "job" to keep them off his land - they shouldn't be on his land in the first place. They are surely trespassing, and isn't that a crime? If not, you have rather odd laws in the UK.

We have rather odd laws. Trespassing is not a criminal offence.

Aggravated trespass is.

SlopesOff · 28/11/2020 17:16

Spike strip, like the Police use to stop criminal drivers. If it's dark it can be left out for them to ride over.

Remote control ones are available.

A decent sized gaggle of farmers, preferably in tractors, to “have a word” every time it happens? The height advantage of tractors (also dazzling lights) will scare the wee shits away. Attaching muck-spreader to tractor and using it is also a good option. Though Ive no idea of legalities if these things.

@WelcomeToGreenvale

Bored teenagers. I feel sorry for them rn. It's the farmer's job to keep them off his land and you need to be more persistent with him. He clearly hasn't done his best, he's made a pathetic couple of attempts to keep them away.
Aha....Trolling, as in its original meaning, "Wind up merchant" and not as it means now, "being nasty". You don't see it very often. A blast from the past 😂
