Just watching a programme on BBC 2 about saving Britain’s pubs. Holy shit just googled the menu and starters are £20 ++++ and mains are in the £50s and more. WTF! No wonder it needs to be saved, what the hell are these people thinking?

Do you mean hand and flowers? Think that is a michellin starred place so can charge what it likes ala carte.

And loads would go for the cheaper set lunch.

Website down now so can't check it.

Are you really so shocked a restaurant with two Michelin stars charges what is a fairly standard amount for food (for a fine dining establishment)?

Popcornismandatory · 26/11/2020 21:52

Just go to Maccy D then 🤷‍♀️

If it’s too expensive just go to your local Toby Carvery.

I’m happy to pay for high quality cooking personally.

I'd sell your gran for a meal there.

So don’t go

I thought kerridge (who's Michelin star gaff needs no saviour - outside of covid hitting all hospitality) argued and presenting his point perfectly. It wasn't about his restaurant, it was about the dying pub and beer industry which is a part of our heritage and a shame to lose
