Any other odd food combinations which are surprisingly delicious?

I remember quite liking dark chocolate and prawn cocktail crisps together as a child.

Black currant jam and chocolate spread on toast. I feel like I'm eating Black Forest gateau for breakfast 😋

I have blackcurrant jam with everything - pate here I come! Grin

Gorgonzola and apricot jam on fancy crackers.
Rollmops sandwiches are also good but nobody else ever agrees with me on that.

They both sound worth trying. Perhaps some Sauternes with the first suggestion?

Any particular type of bread for the rollmop sandwiches? Something like rye bread, maybe?

@Nunoftheother I like the rollmops sandwiches with granary bread!

I like crunchy peanut butter and salad cream sandwiches Blush

Bluesheep8 · 29/11/2020 08:14

On seeded bread. Sometimes spread the bread with sundried tomato pesto, then peanut butter, then salad cream. I've never met anyone who thinks this sounds remotely nice....

I do that too, I started with Ardennes Pate with cranberry, then one day when I was out of cranberry tried Raspberry jam and realised it was just as good.

I like white Stilton with mango chutney, but can substitute with apricot jam as well.

Marmite and Salt and vinegar crisp sandwiches.

Oh and dark chocolate and mature cheddar chunks.
