Knowledge about money claims?

Good evening all
Sorry I couldn’t find the right thread to put this in so just posted on most popular.
I have recently filed a money claim to a company - without going into much detail - and the court wrote to me today to say they have served the claim on the defendant.
Does this mean that the court have agreed with my claim or do they automatically serve any claim that comes through the court?
My letter says that they have up until x date to pay/respond/dispute etc.
Do most companies just pay up when they receive these? It is less than 5k if that makes a difference.

It means the court have given the documents to the defendant, so the defendant knows that you have issued the claim.

The claim may be defended, in which case the defendant usually has 14 days to file an acknowledgement of service.
