Free postage on my next order.

My friend is undergoing treatment and I’ve been sending her little gifts throughout to try and make things a bit easier.
Ordered some baked goods stating that they needed to be there yesterday as she had very important results today.
The order has still not arrived and the seller offered me free delivery on my next order as a gesture of good will.
I’m tempted just to leave but my friend got really bad news today so I’m in two minds - I haven’t responded to yet.

Did you pay for named day delivery?

Katy - the delivery charge was a set amount and they assured me it would be there for yesterday.

I wouldn't offer any more than a refund on postage if you'd paid for next day delivery.

If you hadn't paid for next day delivery, I wouldn't offer anything.

Was it their fault it didn't get there in time? Or was there a delay with the delivery company?

They’ve blamed it on the delivery company. To be honest I think my emotions are getting in the way and I will just leave it.

They shouldn't have assured you a delivery date - when I was running an Etsy shop I would NEVER guarantee delivery dates, even if using next-day services (unfortunate experiences with Royal Mail..). What happens to the parcel once it leaves their hands is out of their control.

It's disappointing it didn't get there in time, but it's not their fault.

If it's with Royal Mail then chances are it is their problem. I've been waiting 3 weeks for deliveries

I'd probably leave it.
