to ask you to help me decide and calculate the risk

DD has lives away from home, she is a keyworker and commutes from one city to ours for work.
I have not seen her for months apart from when she has called to collect bits and bobs socially distanced on the driveway.

She will be doing the same today after work to drop Xmas presents off for younger siblings.

My dilemma: She always wears a mask. If I were to put a mask on and we both face opposite directions (outside) how risky would it be to give her a huge hug?

She's only 19 and I miss her so much. My heart is broken and I just want to cuddle my baby.

So, what do you think?

Give your daughter a hug.

Nottherealslimshady · 25/11/2020 15:20

Have a hug but if she's in her work clothes change your clothes and have a wash afterwards. Otherwise the risk is fairly small.

HollowTalk · 25/11/2020 15:20

When you say she's a keyworker, do you mean she's working with Covid patients or anything like that?

If not, I'd go for the biggest hug I could get in the shortest possible time!

Dilemmmmma · 25/11/2020 15:20

If she could come before work, or she changes her clothes between work and arriving to your I think that would be a much lower risk.

ChikiTIKI · 25/11/2020 15:34

I would give her a hug, but would think about isolating if she woke up the next day with a cough

VinylDetective · 25/11/2020 15:37

Hug her. Just do it.

Give your daughter a hug

Bloody hell, the government have really done a number on us if we have to go onto an online forum to ask if its reasonable to hug our own child.
Hug your daughter, just wash your hands after for good measure.

ZadieZadie · 25/11/2020 15:50

I assume you're very vulnerable if you're asking this?

If so, you need to think about your own situation rather than people at a normal risk who are usually still hugging.
