How much exercise should you do and how often? I'm obese and had enough of not knowing exactly what to do as thick as that sounds xx

A good start is 30 mins of activity 5 x per week. A mixture of cardio and weights is best, but start with what feels achievable. A brisk walk absolutely counts, and is usually doable every couple of days.

I run 3-4 miles three times a week and walk everywhere, mostly not far but I do walk. I did the couch to 5k to start me running and I highly recommend it, it works and builds you up gradually.

I started 4x a week with 15 min HIIT.
15 min means you won't really have an excuse not to do it. Then you start feeling benefits and you start getting motivated to do bit more and research it a bit and you will end up happily working out.

I hate exercise so I needed something short so I can't wing it.

If you google "exercise NHS" you'll find a link to the exercise section of the NHS website.

It's got loads of useful stuff eg guidelines for the amount of exercise people of different ages should be doing each week, explanations of the different kinds of exercises (eg cardio and strengthening), examples of the kinds of activities that count as moderate or vigorous exercise, a link to Couch to 5K and a link to some nhs exercise videos.

It's a really good place to start if you're new to exercise.
