I work in children's residential care, with a shift pattern of 2 on 4 off with sleep ins. This means that I am away from home for 48 hours at a time.
AIBU to be struggling with this? I have young children (youngest is 4 , oldest 10). My husband luckily has fairly flexible hours and my dad is fantastic and nearby to help if needed. I just struggle with sleeping away from home for two nights at a time. On the other hand, I get 4 days off which I know is great (once I get home in the morning, about 9am).
Does anyone else work a similar pattern? I don't think I would struggle with the 15 hour day if I wasn't away from home with sleeping in.
I am due to go back to uni in September to do a masters that will allow me to retrain, so I just need to get through until then. Just struggling tonight as due back in tomorrow.
Do I just need a kick up the arse?!
