Is it unreasonable to be applying for new jobs while TTC.
We have been trying for a few months now, and of course we don't know when it is going to happen.
I am at stage in my career where I am ready to advance and move in to a more challenging and better paid role. However...
In my current job I have been there long enough to receive maternity pay, if I move jobs, and fall pregnant quickly then it is unlikely I'd be entitled to any maternity benefits so soon.
There is also the dilemma of joining a new role with the knowledge that I would soon be leaving for maternity.
It seems so frustrating, as a woman that your career has to be put on hold and you can't be free to advance due to childcare/maternity pay.
The other alternative means to miss out on current opportunities and wait for the pregnancy/mat leave/6 months obligation to return to my current role, meaning that's at least 2 years before I can progress in my career!!!
Ended up to be more of a rant if anything, sorry about that!!
Does anyone feel the same??
