DH's animated jig when he needs to use the toilet

If we're in the middle of a shop and he needs to go to the toilet he does this animated jig, bouncing from one foot to the other, as if that's going to get rid of the urge to go. It's distracting and annoying.

He arrived back from the nursery run this morning and almost crashed the empty (brand new) pram into the door because he was doing his dramatic I must get to the toilet nowwwww routine hopping from foot to foot.

AIBU to find this incredibly annoying? Just go to the toilet before you go out ffs, or make your way to the nearest loo like a normal person minus the amateur dramatics.

AIBU?

Toddlers and small children do that. Grown adults look ridiculous doing it.

Like a young child? Urghh what a turn off

ShirleyPhallus · 24/11/2020 10:13

It’s not the biggest deal in the world is it? I mean, I’m sure there are things that you do which are pretty annoying back....

helloxhristmas · 24/11/2020 10:14

I had to reread the beginning, I thought you meant DS not DH.

This, for me, is that habit of his that grinds my gears Grin

If an adult male needs to do this to avoid wetting themselves they need to get their prostate checked.

notacooldad · 24/11/2020 11:00

That would really turn me off him.
Have you told him to stop acting like an over grown child?

billy1966 · 24/11/2020 11:07

He must look like an awful twat.
Perhaps film him.

I would be genuinely mortified for anyone to see that and it would give me the Ick.
😁

Dontxh · 24/11/2020 11:16

Oh I've told him it makes him look about 5, apparently it's a distraction technique to take his mind off the fact he's desperate for the toilet.

I don't believe he needs to do it in order to suppress the urge. I have a bladder prolapse and even I don't need to do a dance when I need the loo. It's very attention seeking.

The wee dance.

My 4 year old does it Grin

OneTC · 24/11/2020 11:43

Does actually work for some reason but it's really not a good look Grin

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 24/11/2020 11:45

Even my 3 year old doesn’t do this, he just takes himself off to the toilet when he needs to go.

I’m afraid even my 3 year old is more mature than your husband! I would find it so embarrassing being in public with him when he’s doing that.
