Are breastfed babies smaller?

So perfectly friendly lady asks how old my babies are. Her and her DP we're trying to decide. Both suprised they're 11 months as they guessed older.
I confirm yes they are indeed big, they're now in 18-24 months.
She says they're probably bigger than her 3 to.
I do the polite chuckle how how big they are indeed.
Then she says it's likely because she breastfed hers and breastfed babies are smaller

I wasn't quick enough to tell her I bf them (I didn't but I resent the insinuation that I didn't because I have twins when plenty of twin mom's do) or to really say anything because she then left.

But firstly is that even true?
Was she just defensive because I have beastly babies?
Was she shaming me for over feeding them with an evil bottle?
Why do I even care?

People just like to comment on babies sizes don't they... Maybe she felt insecure that she had a small baby. You do care because you are proud of breastfeeding your twins and didn't like the insinuation that you didn't. My breastfed baby is on the larger size of average, but they're all different.

@appletart99 thanks, they've always voracious appetite so technically they were over fed but they're tall and solid not just round so I'm happy with the fact they're fed and healthy.

Sorry i must have misled , i didn't but o have friends who did and did for ages so i resented the insinuation on their behalf I only managed to pump for 4 weeks and never got them on the actual breast

My midwife told me that breastfed babies only take as much milk as they need, because they need to make an effort to suck the milk from the breast, whereas formula-fed babies just lie back and have the milk poured into them. I have no idea how accurate this is, though.

If you turn a bottle to the right angle to drink from, a short but comes out then it stops. FF babies have to suck

I had two breastfed babies one was always on the 25th line the other went up to the 91st line Grin.

One was little and the other a chunk but nothing to do with what they were fed. All babies are different. X

My DS was exclusively BF
(Glances over at solid 14yr old , 6ft rugby prop forward sprawled on the sofa ) -definitely not small

DD1 was exclusively breastfed, she was tiny even now as a teenager she is very slim. DD2 was both breast and formula and DD3 was formula fed ( she couldn't latch onto the breast and was desperately needing calories). DD's 2 and 3 were more chunkier than dd1.
