To ask if it’s too early to get the Christmas deccys out

My partner has been insistent that he wants to put the Christmas decorations up since the beginning of November. Am I being unreasonable to think that we should wait until the 1st of December at least?

No not too early mine are going up this weekend. Everything is dark and bleak at the moment and I’m looking forward to fairy lights and sparkle.

Warm white or cool white for koselig @JimLaheysWhiskeyBottle . Just asking for a friend who has just bought a tree to put outside...

Warm white, definitely (from a Dane).

I absolutely love vinterhygge/Julehygge, and again, it’s the same for us - the winters are long and dark and we get all the cosiness out of it that we can.

Winter is my absolute favourite here. Så koselig. We change the rug, get the candles out, more throw pillows, wool socks, Kari Traa woolens and gløgg. 😍😍😍😍

You don’t get bored of your usual home decor in a month do you, so why would you get bored of something different?

You don’t get bored of your usual home decor in a month do you, so why would you get bored of something different?

Everyone i see posting on Facebook about having their decorations up already are usually then posting on boxing day that they can't wait to "get their house back" and that they are sick of looking at them.

because it's about Christmas.

It doesn't matter what date mine come up, they are out by the 27th. Once Christmas is done, I don't want to see them anymore. Time to move on to the next thing! (New Year and Epiphany for us).

Mine are going up tomorrow. Plan is decorations up, hot chocolate and cake watching planes, trains and automobiles as it’s a thanksgiving rather than Christmas film.

My multicoloured outside lights have been up for a week, all round the porch and window and in to the tree. Not even bothered what anyone else thinks about it, I think they look wonderful!

We're normally nothing before December family but DH is talking about putting some out from Monday, the day after DS1 birthday. My DiL convinced DS2 to put theirs up earlier this week . Her mum has also put their trees up. It's been a really year why shouldn't we try to make it prettier.

But yes, the decorations should go up in December. We don’t put ours up until about 15th.
