Just a rant and see if ibu, fed up with people not wanting to do their job, “ are you aware there is a pandemic going on”
Went into building society today, pouring with rain, one person on the only self serve machine, being helped by a member of staff. No other customers, so I go to the empty cashier, showed my cheque to pay in, she said “ oh due to COVID, you have to pay in by machine, there’s one outside” raining!!. So I stand and wait , no other customers, woman at machine had lots of transactions, after about 5 mins I notice the hand written sign stating only cheques under 2000 could be deposited by machine! My cheque was for over 3000, so I say to the cashier, my cheque is over 2000, so how would you like me to pay it in. She replied “ oh, sorry, didn’t even look at the cheque, you’ll have to pay it in with me”
All the time I was in there, no one else could come in, only 2 customers at a time.
Get home to letter saying not entitled to job seekers as I didn’t pay enough nat. Ins. during 2019, even though I have the P60s to prove, after about 3 phone calls, on hold for 20 mins for each, first nat ins person told me basically tough, COVID means I’m stuffed, my employer won’t deal with pay roll over the phone- COVID but as I’m not an employee anymore, can’t use the portal. Any way finally a lovely lady from nat ins, said “ oh you can claim in January as your contributions are ok for that, just send in copies of your P60 and we’ll make sure your record is correct. Why did the letter not state - you can claim in a months time, saved my time and theirs. Also it took 4 separate letters all saying the same, all arriving together.
Sorry, that took ages.

That does sound very frustrating.
