Yes, there is a bit of a 'history' of pardons for heinous acts. High-ranking Confederates were pardoned by both Lincoln and Johnson after the Civil War, Nixon by Ford after Watergate, ostensibly to 'restore' the nation. But I would be extremely surprised if Biden were to pardon Scrotus.
But I think there was a lot more 'politically at stake' in the Confederate and Nixon cases than is at stake now. Lincoln and Johnson wanted to literally restore all former Confederates to the Union and the pardons for their 'heroes' were a step in that direction. As for Ford's pardon of Nixon, I think that pardon was a part of the resignation deal, and it included a 'slink off quietly to San Clemente and stay out of the limelight' clause. Plus, Nixon had virtually no 'supporters' by the time he resigned, even his own party had turned against him.
Scrotus, on the other hand, is just an asshole. No pardon is going to 'restore' his cult members in and of itself and I can't imagine for one second he'd abide by any 'shut up and slink away' clause. In fact, he'd continue to rile them up and be a royal pain in the arse no matter what he agreed to. I think Biden and his team know this, too.
I think the most 'likely' (but extremely improbable) scenarios would be that Scrotus pardons himself OR invokes a bogus 25th Amendment on himself (sudden heart attack, return of Covid), Pence takes over and pardons him, then Scrotus has a 'miraculous' recovery and takes back the reins. Again, this is EXTREMELY improbable plus I think Pence knows it would kill any serious political future for him. But again, any pardon is only for federal crimes, not state/local indictments.
