To wonder why women in labour have their tops bare stomachs showing

I’m in my early 20’s and few of my contacts on social media have children. I also have a six month old. I’ve recently seen a live video of a woman I went to school with in early labour with her top rolled up so her stomach was showing and also another woman taking pictures of her stomach while in labour with her top rolled up. Is there a reason behind this?

I spent most of my second pregnancy with my bump out it just felt more comfortable. Light floaty tops made me itchy tight ones made me feel warm.

These were women that were not yet at hospital.

I don't get why they are having photographs taken. Is it for some kind of medical manual?

Because it’s a billion fucking degrees when you’re labouring for hours and hours so if women want to get their bare bellies and tits out why the hell not.

Lots of people get naked OP, during labour. It’s only a stomach!

Can't even remember if I did or didn;t with either of mine to be honest but I do know I did anything to try and be more comfortable!

I fully intend to give birth completely naked. Can’t think of anything worse than being covered. It’s the first time I’ve given birth, and will be the only time. I plan to document it by taking photos - bump, boobs and butt all out! Won’t be sharing them on social media, but who gives two shits if I do?

Can’t imagine clutching my pearls over the sight of a bare pregnant stomach.

Did you have a C-Section OP?
I only ask because my first labour was belly exposed (forceps and broken coccyx).
My second was too (until they scanned my pelvis and discovered an abnormality - so had EMCS)
My third was covered until I reached theatre.

They probably wanted pictures of the bump before the baby was born or they just felt more comfortable that way.

No I’m just curious as to what the motivation is for it. I guess we all differ I personally didn’t want to be anymore exposed than I had to especially not on social media but then I’m quite a private person.

People just do what makes them comfortable, ideally they don't know why they're doing it as are in the moment. I had mine up to press my hand on my womb over my contractions.

I was really fucking hot - but I took my top off instead and just had my bra on. And also didn’t get photos not a nice sight!

I didn't, I like to be covered as it's how I'm comfortable. They were obviously comfortable like that. It affects no one just let people live their lives!
