Pill question

AIBU to switch pills midway through a pack? From Yasmin to Microlite. Started Yasmin for the first time this month (4th November) and have been having really bad migraines since. I had a three month break from any contraception and just started back this month. Is it safe to switch packs midway through? Had sex only once this month but it was a couple of days ago so a bit iffy about swapping. Don’t want to pester the GP about this. Any advice?

Depends on the type of pill, this is the kind of thing you should pester your GP/nurse about. They’ll probably be able to advise over the phone. The consequences are well worth professional advise.

Speak to the pharmacist. They know more about medication than doctors, it is their specialism.

I’m currently in Asia so can’t just phone up

They’re both combination pills if that makes any difference

Well if you can't speak to a medical professional its probably better not to make the switch isn't it? Medical advice from Mumsnet is hardly going to be reliable.

@freezedriedromance I’m hoping there might be a professional on this

But do you not see how ridiculous that sounds? How would you know they're a medical professional?

I could say "I'm a doctor and this is fine" but could work at Asda for all you know.

If you can't speak to your doctor then don't make the switch. It might be fine to do, but you don't know that and neither do random people on mumsnet.
