Opened vibrator delivery

Firstly, I'd like to say I have no shame about this at all. I've been waiting for a delivery of a lovely new toy for an age (about a week) but I've been in serious need of a lovely de-stress.

The order has come this morning, I get a knock on the door, ask who it is with no response. I end up opening the door and it's a package. I immediately realise it's open and not only is the package open and you can see what it is but the cellophane has been ripped open. On closer inspection, the parcel isn't sealed properly and looks like it's only stuck properly on one side. So I now do not know if it's been used, etc plus the person delivering it knows what it is too.

I definitely don't want it now. AIBU to complain? Who the hell do I complain to, RM or the sender? I'll admit that I'm much bloody grumpier now to top it off.

RM wont have opened it. It's illegal to open post in the office, even if its addressed to the postie him/herself.

Also they can often tell when someone has ordered sex toys.

Confused555 · 16/11/2020 13:38

I have a feeling it’s been posted to the wrong person, they’ve opened it to see what’s inside and returned to the rightful owner, hence why no one was there when you opened the door. So someone in your neighbourhood knows what you’ll be up to tonight, watch out for those curtain twitchers WinkGrin

Susanwouldntlikeit · 16/11/2020 13:40

Lol at the idea of buying second hand 😀😀😀

pinkksugarmouse · 16/11/2020 13:45

I would contact the company for a refund or replacement. This isn't something you can take a risk with in my opinion.

GlowingOrb · 16/11/2020 13:45

When a package is damaged or opened in transit, you take multiple photos and then contact the seller for replacement. They deal with the shipping company. This is standard procedure.

Tomcullenisahero · 16/11/2020 13:47

The answers on here are hilarious 🤣. Cheered up my Monday afternoon!

BrummyMum1 · 16/11/2020 13:47

You just hear stories of people in the sorting offices, etc. doing odd things

Do you?! What stories are these? 😂 I know a couple of posties and they’d tell you they are far too busy to open and fondle people’s packages.

MiffedEmployee · 16/11/2020 13:48

Definitely not making this up. I couldn't have told them it was open because it was left by the door. I saw him walk back to the van from the ndn.

The bottom of the box is bent just where you'd put your finger to pull out the folded flap (excuse the pun Grin ) Might have been knocked but it did add to it Hmm

Yes, the stories of gross people freak me out.

It's a Satisfyer Pro 2 and I'm still trying to decide how much I need satisfying today.

Crying at buying second hand GrinGrin

Tomcullenisahero · 16/11/2020 14:05

@MiffedEmployee🤣🤣🤣🤣 'put your finger in to pull out the folded flap'. Why is this so funny?🤣

Tomcullenisahero · 16/11/2020 14:07

I just googled them, it looks like an ear hair trimmer! But a pretty one.

DreadingSeason2020sFinale · 16/11/2020 14:09

You just contact the seller and tell them it has arrived opened. They should organise another to be sent out and may tell you to keep and dispose of that one or will sort out a returns label.

I wouldn't assume it's been used but I also would not put it past a couple of workers at a sorting office finding the packaging damaged and seeing what it is, pulling it out and pissing about having a laugh. It's immature but it's certainly the kind of this some people get a giggle out off, 'lobbing a dildo across the room at their mate Daz'. You just have to spend five minutes on internet sites like Tik Tok, Reddit or even FB to see that kind of stuff.

TimeToCloseTheDoor · 16/11/2020 14:13

Just bung it in your dishwasher

nevermorelenore · 16/11/2020 14:18

Eww, thanks to that 'someone sent me a sex toy' thread, I've learned that Lovehoney take returns. I once worked in the returns department for an online retailer of non-sexy items, and that was absolutely gross anyway. Imagine the poor, poor person who has to unpack the returned items.

Phwooooar · 16/11/2020 14:18

@Miffed a Satisfier Pro 2? Well now we know that does indeed make all the difference..!. off to google Satisfier Pro 2 to find out if I need satisfying Grin

Send it back saying it was Un-Satisfactory - yeah? Eh? Geddit?

I reckon this too!

MrsClatterbuck · 16/11/2020 14:43

Bit of a stretch but maybe it was delivered to wrong person and they left it on your doorstep when the postie was doing their deliveries to make it look like it was the postie. Or they handed it to the postie saying they got it by mistake and they then delivered it to you.

NiceandCalm · 16/11/2020 14:43

I'm going with the neighbour. I was waiting for an Amazon delivery and when a parcel arrived I tore it open. It was a studded dog collar (not the dog kind). I then noticed it wasn't my name/address on the parcel. I delivered it and explained why it was opened. I think if it had been something 'personal' I'd have rung the bell and ran! Maybe this could have happened? Look out for neighbours avoiding eye contact, lol.

CorianderBlues · 16/11/2020 14:52

Mrs Clatterbuck

Bit of a stretch...

Show off.

Lifeisforalimitedperiodonly · 16/11/2020 14:53

My friend saw a second hand one for sale at a car boot.

I can't even.

Interesting theory. OP do you have a ring doorbell so you can see who actually dropped it through?
Joswis · 16/11/2020 14:56

Send it back. Something as intimate as that needs to be in pristine condition upon delivery.

Did it arrive via Hermes?

BoyTree · 16/11/2020 14:57

Just going to leave this here...

Missmonkeypenny · 16/11/2020 14:59

Ooh, is it the Satisfyer OP? Grin
