Covid hypocrisy

AIBU to think that it's complete double standards for Boris to say It ''doesn't matter that we were all doing social distancing'' when explaining his isolation, and yet teachers are only asked to isolate if they have come into 'close prolonged contact' with a positive student. This is defined at closer than 2m for more than 15 minutes. Which of course rarely happens (more likely for support staff) as we have classes of 30 to contend with. More so it shifts the blame onto us with 'well you shouldn't be doing this'.

So how come it doesn't matter if Boris has been distancing- he's still at risk, but for teachers a bit of distance will save us?

You're absolutely right. It is madness that he's forced to isolate after social distancing, while teachers at much greater risk are advised not to.

I bet this is fake on BJ’s end. He wants to prove the tracing system he spent a fortune on works, he’s now at home saying ‘what ho chaps, make sure you follow the rules when you get called!’ Fake!

He probably has to have the test & trace app, to show his trust in it. If test & trace contact him, he has to do what they say, because somebody knows they told him to self-isolate, and if he didn't there's every chance that would come out.

But yes, the double standards being applied to teachers are ridiculous - however I think it's a difference between them and much of the rest of the population, not them and Boris.

It will give him a break from PMQs too and he can avoid any questions about Cummings.

Boris and hypocrisy go back a long way. Not exactly news.

Yeah I think he just wants to say “look I’m isolating, it all works fine and you should too”
