To wonder if there is a shop bought cake that tastes good?

Does anyone know of a shop bought birthday cake with buttercream that tastes anything like homemade rather than the very artificial tasting buttercream like you get in the pre made tubs!

Can't beat home made. There's no comparison in my view.

I’ve bought sponges from a company called sponge! Look up their website. Quite pricey but if you calculate per slice it’s only a few pounds per serving.
They deliver and freezer really well. Can be ever so slightly dry but the closest to home made that I’ve bought before

Definitely not Costco...

Buy one from a local cake maker, more expensive of course but worth it
