To think that you should always rinse dishes when hand washing them?

Over the years I have come across a number of people who hand wash dishes with soap (obviously) but then do not rinse the dirty soap off under water. They either go straight to drying them with a towel, or they put them to drip dry. I think that is gross. Now the dirt is still on the dishes plus soap scum is there too. It's like having a bath and not rinsing off the dirt/bubbles before drying yourself. I think both habits are gross. Anyone else in my court or is it just me?

Oh yes, I told you how I washed my tea towels when you asserted I probably wash them on a 20 degree wash with my knickers. I haven’t commented on your bloody tea towels or how many millions of them you’ve got.

I think it might be our damp climate.
Most people I know have dishwashers so there is no hand washing, but when I was growing up in the 60s the water was heated from the open fire, so v limited hot water. So you washed dishes in v hot water and put dishes to drain so the water evaporated from the hot dish. If you'd run off all the hot water rinsing a few dishes you'd have been shot and no one would have had a bath, if you'd run cold water (v cold here in the north) the dishes wouldn't have dried. We also have a damp climate so dishes would dry v slowly, no central heating in those days. Drying with a tea towel was the norm but still dishes dried quicker warm rather than cold.

Honestly the soap is extremely diluted, anyone who says they can taste it is clearly using too much!

I can taste it. Maybe some of us have more sensitive tastebauds than others. I also avoid foil-wrapped chocolate because I can taste the metal more than I can taste chocolate.
