The app will only let me post in aibu for some reason sorry.

Been watching old episodes of these on YouTube whilst isolating and I wondered if they kept the weight off.I find these type of programmes really interesting.

I don't know anyone from either of those shows but there used to be a show about people with weird eating habits and there was a guy on that show that I knew who was saying he had lived in chips for years and had eaten nothing but chips, etc.
Funny that as I knew him as a customer when I worked at a coffee shop and he was regularly in.buying a mocha and a chocolate chip cookie Grin

Ooh I love that programme!

I don’t but I imagine it didn’t stick solely from being on the show. In my experience if you have a complex relationship with food and weight then you need to address that properly, it might be that they did that but most likely the ‘shock’ of doing the other person’s diet wouldn’t do that alone. Also neither diet was good on either side so im not sure how helpful it would be!

Not too be a moaner but I was always suspicious of the intent of those shows. I know it advertised as improving health and diet but to me it felt more like ‘eww come look and judge this person for their terrible diet!’.

I know someone who was on it, she was the super skinny person. She’s not as thin anymore, has had a baby since then and is a pretty normal weight.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 13/11/2020 12:42

@Sparklesocks I agree. I mean, I assume (hope) that Supersize v Superskinny had some pretty stringent vetting criteria, but still the premise seemed insanely irresponsible!

@rivertoskateaway aah thats great that she's stayed healthy
