For someone to touch and specifically point out their huge, weeping coldsore, then touch pens and paperwork used by others- with no attempt to clean any of it?

“You do know that the Herpes Simplex Virus HPV1 is extremely contagious, don’t you? So please don’t touch my pen or paperwork after touching your cold sore”, said to them firmly, should resolve it...
My MIL used to suffer with it, and would always take great care not to let my dc’s touch her when she had a cold sore, meaning they’ve grown up without ever contracting it.
I miss my MIL - she was a diamond!

I had a friend growing up, she suffered cold sores a few times a year. Would happily share drinks with people, take a bite from someone's fork. Wasn't careful at all. It put me on edge.

I have no idea how you didn't say anything. Has the pandemic not taught them anything?! I think some people with cold sores just consider them a normal part of life and dont realise theres those of us that dont want them. Someone we work with the whole family has them from kids to grandparents.

Noone should be sharing office equipment currently anyway, but yes, this is wrong in any time. I would also say something about how contagious it is.
