Has anyone had what they thought was periods during pregnancy ????
I haven’t been well recently, suppose you could say pregnancy symptoms. My issue is we haven’t actually done the deed in months and I have had what I thought was periods. I have been vomiting a lot/ been bloating and sorry for the tmi but piles came back ( haven’t had them since second pregnancy 7 years ago )
I just took a test this afternoon which has come up as a very clear positive, took another and the same result.
I am so confused right now. I will book an appointment with doctor of course but I’m in completely freak out mode.
It defo wouldn’t be planned I have 2 DC 13 and nearly 7.
Partner and I have been friends for a very very very long time but only started dating 11 months ago.
I don’t know what I am actually asking 🤣

Sorry for the radio silence been a long day 🤣
So spoke to doctor at 11.40 who thankfully was the other doctor ( known me for a long time and through my DC2 pregnancy )
She asked me to go down to the surgery, so she could examine me and give me a MOT to.
So

  1. I am pregnant
2.I am defo longer than 3 months 😳🤣🙈 3.I seem healthy and nothing seems wrong.

She has contacted the local antenatal which tbf also know me very well ( DC2) is a looong story ) I am now just waiting for a phone call from there hopefully get an accurate date and to check everything is ok with baby.

Oh my goodness. How exciting! How are you feeling about it now?

Whattheactual20201 · 12/11/2020 15:01

@Littlefish
I couldn’t even tell you right now 🤣
My DP is not in freak out mode which is helping because I don’t have to be.
He keeps reeling off things we need but seems happy 🤣 then panics then is happy again then panics again. I have sent him to the supermarket to get food to calm him !

Whattheactual20201 · 12/11/2020 15:14

@longwigglylines I’ve gone back to irrationally laughing 🤣
I don’t know it’s a really odd feeling I
Suppose the same feeling as if I was 6 weeks just more rushed haha !
I just want the scan because Its looking like a January due days but had to have both My DC at 36 weeks.
I’m hoping they deem it an emergency ?

This is absolutely brilliant news, OP! Can't believe they didn't suspect that when you couldn't stop puking months ago...

Inastatus · 12/11/2020 15:20

Whattheactual20201 · 12/11/2020 15:25

Madcats · 12/11/2020 15:33

Goodness, you could end up with a Christmas baby at this rate! I bet you've made your GPs day.

My midwife used to measure me with a tape measure. The process is described/shown here:

Whattheactual20201 · 12/11/2020 15:41

Haha @Madcats she has known me since I was 10 years old I have to admit was the funniest GP appointment I’ve ever had 🙈
She was like I’m not over the last pregnancy yet ... me neither !
My specialist midwife and consultant still work at the antenatal clinic, I still see them regularly through the hallways so I know I will be looked after ❤️

Mylittlesandwich · 12/11/2020 16:07

Someone I know did this, went into labour when she didn't know she was pregnant and the next time I saw her she had a baby with her. I was in shock so I can't imagine how she felt.

TenShortStories · 12/11/2020 16:23

Just appearing to your friends and family one day all cool and blasé with a new babe under one are would be so much fun! What this old thing? Oh yeah, had it ages, sorry didn't I mention it?

TenShortStories · 12/11/2020 16:23

*one ARM

Whattheactual20201 · 12/11/2020 16:26

Ahhh so my phone finally rang and now I’m freaking out.

bit of background here is my DC2 was born with severe heart defects, requiring transplant by age 4 but surgeries from birth.
This was later deemed to be apart of a generic syndrome she has however I do not have the same gene variation.
As well as a few other issues along side it.
Pregnancy was complicated that’s why she wanted to contact the antenatal clinic.

They have a spot at 2.30 tomorrow so will see me then.

longwigglylines · 12/11/2020 17:29

Would 36 weeks mean a Christmas baby?

I hope tomorrow goes well. Can your DP go with you or are hospitals still not letting partners in?
