Has anyone had what they thought was periods during pregnancy ????
I haven’t been well recently, suppose you could say pregnancy symptoms. My issue is we haven’t actually done the deed in months and I have had what I thought was periods. I have been vomiting a lot/ been bloating and sorry for the tmi but piles came back ( haven’t had them since second pregnancy 7 years ago )
I just took a test this afternoon which has come up as a very clear positive, took another and the same result.
I am so confused right now. I will book an appointment with doctor of course but I’m in completely freak out mode.
It defo wouldn’t be planned I have 2 DC 13 and nearly 7.
Partner and I have been friends for a very very very long time but only started dating 11 months ago.
I don’t know what I am actually asking 🤣

Oh goodness OP, your last posts made it sound like this pregnancy would be much more straightforward. I'm sorry to hear you're stuck in hospital but I'm sure you know it's the best place to be right now.

And, what's different about this pregnancy is the experts are forewarned and therefore much better prepared to support you both.

Are they definitely delivering her? Is that in 2 days from now? Will they let your DP in for the labour?

Have you got small baby clothes? If not you maybe can give your DP something practical to do, to order a load of early baby clothes.

Sending you a huge virtual (((((hug)))) (do we still have to add a disclaimer they're "unmumsnetty" these days?).

I know we're all rooting for you.

Whattheactual20201 · 29/11/2020 11:56

@fastwigglylines yes I have already made sure he is on that, they are happy with how baby is doing, her heart trace is good. She is going really well.

fastwigglylines · 29/11/2020 12:53

That sounds really positive. Do you know how many weeks you're at now?

RandomMess · 29/11/2020 18:23

Blimey one of the shortest pregnancies ever so to speak.

Glad all is well. Get DP busy acquiring some tiny baby clothes and batch cooking for the freezer.

Great that you have no infections and can get the 2nd lot is steroids injected.

Confusedismyname · 29/11/2020 18:41

Wow! Just caught this thread tonight.

Wishing you all the best OP

Mylittlesandwich · 29/11/2020 18:42

I can imagine this is all quite a shock but look at it another way, you found out just in time to make sure you and your little one could have the absolute best care when you needed it. I hope things are going well. Asda seem to do quite a lot of premature baby clothes if that's any help.

soundsgreektome · 29/11/2020 18:43

Just read all the thread! Lovely! This is like a history repeating itself, my SIL went through exactly the same 24 years ago. Her baby is expecting his baby next year. Hope everything is ok with you

HotPatootiebootie · 29/11/2020 20:04

Good luck with all my lovely, you are in the best place ❤️

EggyPegg · 29/11/2020 20:05

Oh my goodness. I've only just found this thread. It is amazing. Hope you're doing okay OP. It sounds like she's doing well and that you're both in good hands.

minipie · 29/11/2020 20:54

Wow OP, you are having a baby! DD1 was born suddenly at 34 weeks after my waters went, so this brings back memories.

If you want, you could ask the midwives to show you how to hand express colostrum (unless this is something you already know from your others?) as colostrum and breastmilk really helps the early ones.

I would personally ask for a C section (maybe they will suggest this anyway) - I had a natural birth with DD and it didn’t go very well for her...

Best of luck, hope they are looking after you really well x

Onedropbeat · 29/11/2020 23:16

Good luck !

It’s almost like the perfect Christmas miracle

So lucky to have found out you were pregnant before your water started leaking.
You might have otherwise just put it down to something else entirely and then ended up with an even bigger surprise!

Sounds like your DP is being lovely and supportive

Sorry your in on your own for now but fingers crossed you’ll be back home all together soon enough

Mrsmummy90 · 29/11/2020 23:28

Just rtft! What a rollercoaster!

Hope you're ok and they're looking after you xx

jpclarke · 30/11/2020 00:00

Thinking of you all, it's a difficult situation for you all with all the restrictions etc but it sounds kind you are in good hands and your little girl is doing well. I hope they let your partner in for the birth and that you try and get some rest now 🤞

CoffeethenCrochet · 30/11/2020 00:10

Thinking of you OP Flowers

2020wish · 30/11/2020 01:28

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 30/11/2020 02:11

Gosh I am so happy and excited for you @Whattheactual20201 ! Hope you and baby are well, wow this is one amazing thread!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/11/2020 07:04

I'm sorry to read that you do have an infection but at least you and the hospital are on to it - and, at least you know it's your waters - imagine if you still didn't know you were pregnant and this all happened!! Shock

I know she's a bit early but better to get her out and manage her health from outside now, and you'll have her for Christmas. How excited is your DD1??

Postmanbear · 30/11/2020 07:22

I hope you are ok OP and the baby stays healthy. You are in the best place so I’m sure it will all work out well 💐
