Extinction Rebellion and the Cenotaph on Armistice Day

I get the environment and climate change is massively important.
I get that climate change is going to lead to potential conflicts, loss of life, mass movement of people etc.
I get that things need to be done and the world isn't moving fast enough on it.
I get that they need to make protests that are visible.

But using the Cenotaph on Armistice Day, walking over the wreaths that were laid at the weekend. It's not the way to win hearts and minds. Maybe they don't want to. But it's one hell of a way to alienate people.

AIBU to think that?

Shameful. It should stand apart from any protest, however worthwhile that protest is.

I think its worth noting that the protester who put the wreath up is a veteran himself. I agree on balance that it should be a separate time for remembrance. But it does make a difference.

Think whatever you like, why would you be unreasonable.
