To go back to the shop for a refund

I bought a bottle of wine on Friday, quite late around 10pm (not sure if this is relevant). When I got home to open the bottle, the entire silver cap (not just the screw top) flew off with my hand.

I decided to try a sip anyway, and it was blackcurrant squash. Not alcoholic at all. I've sent a complaint to the company, shall I take it back to the shop too?

Do you mean that somebody opened the wine and put blackcurrant squash inside it or it just tasted funny? If it was actual squash then of course you need to let the company in case somebody had tampered with products

I've sent an email to the company, not sure whether the shop would give me a refund or just ask me to take it up with them. It was definitely just squash, not sure who would have tampered with them. No teenage dcs who could have Was wondering if it was just the one bottle of maybe a whole batch.
